Mrs Clara Fasuan

In Honor of the Mind Behind the Foundation

Born to the illustrious family of Ajibesin/Sowemimo of Abeokuta Ogun State some Seventy years ago. Chief Clara Fasuan grew up first with her parents in Logos, Ogbomoso and Osogbo. She had her secondary education in Osogbo where her father was an engineer in the defunct NEPA.

After school and due to some family adjustments, she moved to Ikeja where she lived with her parents. She was engaged as Air Hostess at the West African Airways Office in Ikeja.

She got married to Oladeji Fasuan who was then representing the Western State Government at the Ikeja Industrial Estate in 1963. She moved to Ibadan with her family in 1964. Soon she joined the Production Department of the Premier Hotel where she worked till 1976 when the old Ondo state was created and the family moved to Akure the state capital. She was a Catering Officer in the State Civil Service. When the Catering Department was turned to Owena Motels she was transferred to Ado Ekiti branch which she headed until her retirement in 1990. Thereafter she engaged in merchandising, mostly clothing at Ado Ekiti where she led a group of women traders.

Mrs Clara Fasuan was a committed Christian. Her religious activities were so apparent especially at Our Savior's Anglican Church Ado where she was a patron of the Choir, where she played prominent role and made regular contributions. At home here in Afao, she was the lyalaje an important Chieftain in the hierarchy of women chiefs in the Church. She loved her religious activities and accepted Christian responsibilities easily and happily.

She is blessed with seven children - Folusho, Olabisi, Folake, Gbonjubola, Olatunbosun, Olaleke, and Oladunni.
